Mono propylene glycol (also known as PG, propylene glycol, propan1, 2diol and MPG) is a colourless, and viscous chemical liquid with a typical odour. It is soluble in water, and has hygroscopic properties. MPG is used across a wide range of industries as it has low toxicity, coupled with a freezing point which is depressed upon mixing with water. Mono propylene glycol is used in multiple applications in a variety of different industries. It is being used in cosmetics, food, pharmaceuticals, food flavouring, antifreeze and runway de-icer.
