Butyl glycol is a clear, colourless, oily liquid with a characteristic, mild ether-like, odour. It is one of the most common glycol ethers and is a butyl ether of ethylene glycol. It is miscible with water and with common organic solvents. Butyl glycol has many applications. I can be used as a solvent in the paint industry and also for the production of cleaning products, inks, lacquers and varnishes.
