Acrylates

Acrylates are also known as Propenoates. Acrylates result from the esterification of acrylic acids; when acrylic acid reacts with the corresponding alcohols in presence of a catalyst. (Meth)acrylates are common monomers in polymer plastics, forming  acrylate polymers. They easily form polymers as the double bonds are very reactive.

Acrylates are being used in producing coatings, adhesives, inks, sealants, plastics, elastomers and resins.
