Acids

An Acid is a molecule capable of forming a covalent bond with an electron pair. There are multiple uses for acids. They are often used to remove corrosion and rust from metals and can also be used as an electrolyte in a wet cell battery, for example sulphuric acid in a car battery. Acids are also used as additives in food and beverages to alter taste and as preservatives. Examples are Citric Acid and Phosphoric Acid.
